September 2018 Meeting

The Paris Tennessee Quilt Guild me on September 6, 2018, at the Paris, Tn Civic Center. The meeting opened with a short business meeting and discussions about what we are doing as a group. We had several new members and a couple of visitors.. what I want to say about today's meeting is that it was a great meeting with everyone sharing and taking part. We also had more show and tell. Almost everyone had something to share. I left today feeling so full and encouraged. I really feel like that is what our group is about. Sharing ideas and techniques is a great way to learn more about quilting. Then the fact that everyone loves it so much that that love rubs off on everyone that attends. If you are in Paris Tn on the first Thursday of the month and would like to attend a meeting just come on over to the Paris Civic Center and come to the meeting room at 10:00 AM. We will be happy to see you and help you learn more about quilting.  Also if you already quilt and would like to share what you know with the group then we are happy to learn new techniques. Today I left the meeting feeling so blessed that I am a part of such a talented group of quilters. I love the way we share and complement each other on a quilt well done.  Not only do we make quilts but we knit, crochet, weave, and make clothes and purses. As you look at the photos of today's meeting you will be amazed at the talent and willingness to share and be excited about each other's work. Oh one thing that happened that stood out for me is one of our new members brought her quilt and it was beautiful, but she wasn't that happy about it she went on to tell us why she didn't think is was very good. Our guild president, Kathy Doane, walked over and took the quilt across the room and told her to really look it from a distance. And she explained that a lot of times we look at our quilts up close but if we look from far away all you see is the beauty and not the mistakes. It made me realize that's why we take pictures and put them on the blog so that we can look at our work from different perspectives.  So go through these pictures and see all the beautiful work that we do.
